Vuyokazi Makhubalo - Leadership Academy
Vuyo Makhubalo completed her BCom Accounting at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2002, and her BCompt Honours through UNISA in 2005, obtaining her CA (SA) qualification in 2009, following her articles at SAB&T. After her articles, she worked at Eskom as a Financial Accountant. She subsequently worked at ABSA as a business analyst from 2010 until 2012, after which she joined MCC Contracts as Commercial Manager until 2017. She is currently at Cummins as an Operations Manager. Thanks to her wide exposure to various industries, from banking to mining, she has gained significant experience in financial reporting, risk management, strategy, commercial evaluation of projects or new initiatives, as well as assessing viability of projects. Today, Vuyo helps young African women achieve their goals of qualifying as Chartered Accountants through her leadership role at AWCA. She is a passionate and self-driven individual who believes in the continuous growth and development of women. She is also involved in transformation committees that are addressing transformation initiatives in the mining sector. She believes her insights and knowledge will contribute in the development of South Africa, tackling the task of transformation in one of the country’s most critical and dominant sectors.
