AWCA has committed to funding the full tuition of two university students annually since 2006.
The AWCA bursary is made possible by the funds raised from our annual Woman of Substance Gala Event, which is held to raise funds specifically for our AWCA Bursary Fund. ABSA’s sponsorship of the Woman of Substance allows this function to raise additional finds thus helping AWCA fulfill its primary mandate of increasing the number of African Women CAS. AWCA uses these funds as a contribution to SAICA’s Thuthuka Bursary Fund.
Since 2006, 12 students have benefited from this initiative with the first student qualifying as a CA in 2009.
