Out to Lunch with the Auditor General - Mr Terence Nombembe

Join us as we go “Out to Lunch’ with the Auditor General, Mr Terence Nombembe and tap into his insights and leadership wisdom.
Mr Nombembe is the first African to hold the position of Auditor General(AG) in the history of the organisation’s 95 years. He has worked as an internal and external auditor for various firms including Unilever and BP Southern Africa. Prior to being appointed as the Auditor General, he was the Deputy AG and CEO of the Auditor General.

KZN Leadership Workshop with Accountant General Freeman Nomvalo

AWCA KZN hosted the inaugural Leadership Workshop on Saturday 14 August 2010.  The Leadership Workshop was outstandingly offered by Mr Freeman Nomvalo, who is very passionate about leadership development in South Africa. Freeman Nomvalo is the Accountant General in the National Treasury.
Freeman conducted the workshop in two sessions. He introduced the concepts of leadership and self-deception as a start to the training. Both sessions were delivered in a manner that they interlink in order to uncover the main issues that impede the effectiveness of leaders both in organizations and in their personal capacity. He took the attendees through various aspects of leadership behaviour, emphasizing that the way of being is more important than interpersonal skills.
The workshop was very interactive and attendees were fascinated with what they were discovering about their own leadership.
In 2011, Freeman has offered to cover the topic “Staying alive while exercising Leadership”.
To give you a brief overview – we’ve attached an insert of the speech that Mr Nomvalo gave at the SABC graduation, early this year.

Johannesburg Career Conference

Career Conferences is an initiative which was formed to improve efforts towards helping recently qualified CA’s make the right career choices. In 2009, we held workshops in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, which also included personality profiling, to help analyse the participants’ need and aspirations. In 2010 similar events were hosted successfully in Johannesburg and KZN.
