Develop as we lead
The AWCA student chapter was conceptualized in 2010 at a luncheon hosted by the national body. Mokgadi Phiyega, a student at Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape, was inspired by the ethos of the organisation and decided to engage her peers who were also eager to enter the field of chartered accountancy. A dedicated committee turned this vision into the new chapter which has developed a sizeable following.
There are currently two operating student chapters, one at Rhodes University and the other being at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN). Developments are underway to launch a student chapter at the University of Johannesburg in the near future.
