Develop as we lead
“Develop as we lead” is embedded in all the activities of AWCA. To this end, AWCA is committed to accelerating the advancement of qualified and aspiring African women CAs through the provision of active support and access to opportunities. This is facilitated through 3 ongoing events: Out-to-Lunch, Roundtable Discussions & Celebrate Success.
The format of the Out-to-Lunch occasions is that sponsoring companies host AWCA members at their company premises and provide a special lunch. Members interact with and receive advice from top business leaders that attend the lunches.
The purpose of the roundtable events is for members of the profession to engage with CEOs of state-owned entities (SOEs) and to hold useful discussions on options for stimulating the economy.
These cocktail events provide an opportunity for show-casing excellence and developing leaders as intended by the 3-tier strategy. The events are held to honour the achievements of the special guest and allow them to share the challenges they had to overcome.
