Women Leading Africa Program
Dear AWCA Member
AWCA in partnership with Duke CE recognise the significance of women in leadership positions and are committed to contribute to their development through the Women Leadership Programme. According to McKinsey & Company‘s August 2016 report, women are still under represented in Corporate Boards across all sectors in the African Continent, currently below 30%.
The AWCA Duke Women Leading Africa Board Leadership Programme is one of AWCA’s flagship programmes which focuses on equipping women with technical and leadership skills so as to participate in Corporate Boards. Since the commencement of the programme in 2014, there has been more than 30 successful graduates, both CA and non-CAs from different industries who occupy management roles.
The course covers critical leadership topics such as governance, ethical leadership, risk management, compliance and stakeholder engagement. Candidates also get an opportunity to participate in Board simulations so as to apply the theory learnt and further equip them with the confidence and tools to apply in the corporate environment.
We encourage our members to take advantage of this opportunity and register for the 2017 course.
